NEXTGEN TV, also known as ATSC 3.0, is making its debut in San Antonio and South Central Texas, promising to revolutionize the way viewers consume television. This advanced broadcast technology offers a host of new features including improved picture quality with 4K resolution, enhanced audio clarity, and interactive content, all delivered over-the-air.
One of the most significant advantages of NEXTGEN TV is its hybrid content delivery model, which integrates traditional broadcast signals with broadband to provide more robust, internet-like services directly through the TV. This includes customized news feeds, on-demand video, and enhanced emergency alerts.
KSAT plans to broadcast a NextGen signal on May 6, 2024. The introduction of NEXTGEN TV not only enhances viewer experience but also provides advertisers with targeted advertising opportunities and gives broadcasters the tools to deliver more personalized content, potentially transforming the local media landscape.

- External NextGen tuners are limited at this time but we anticipate this to change as the broadcasters roll out this new format. ADTH, Zinwell and Zapperbox are a few that we are currently testing.
- You do not need a new antenna, we do recommend an outdoor antenna for best reception. Flat panel antennas are not recommended as they are not optimized for VHF reception.
